New Sculpture Progress, the Importance of the Sun

Here is the current progress of the sculpture I’ve been working on lately. It’s based off of the study I did a while back, Dive. It’s about 42” tall, including the base (which right now is just exposed wood and foam, but will eventually be finished off and look less ugly). This is a new method and new material (gypsum) for me, so progress has been slower than I had hoped or anticipated. It still needs a lot of work, but I think it will be pretty cool once it’s finished.

Also, yes, that is The Kramer in the background (guarding it for a friend), along with The Tribe, the Chiefs defense from 1991. My garage is awesome.

I don’t know how clearly you can tell what is going on in the picture above. If you look closely, you get a pretty impressive demonstration of the sun’s importance to the survival of grass. Who knew plants needed sun and water?
